The year is winding down and I thought I'd take a moment to reflect a little. It's been a fairly positive year for writing. I've been able to put up several shorts and a few novellas that have met with generally good reviews.
I've compiled all of the shorts into an anthology that's available in ebook and print versions. Book one of the Blackthorn Knight series is also up. It's meeting with slow sales however. Hopefully it'll pick up steam after Christmas.
Carrier, one of my novellas, has recently won Book of the Month on Long and Short Reviews. HUGE boost to the ego of a new writer. Needless to say a sequel will be forthcoming soon. I have the basic premise in mind for it. Now to find time to write it.
So, what can we expect for 2014? Blackthorn two, Thorn in the Side, is well underway. I also have several shorts in various stages. One is done and in need if editing. A second is nearing completion and I have notes for a half dozen more.
We can also look forward to a new format. Rather than put out random shorts, which appear to be my bread and butter, as they get done I've decided to try a Bi-Monthly publication entitled By the Fire. I'll be splitting Thorn in the Side in half for the first two issues. You can also expect several new shorts and two serial novels in each. One Sci Fi and one more Dark Fantasy/Mystery. I'll put out a new chapter of each every other month. The first issue will launch in early January. I'm hoping that this idea peaks the interest of a larger audience.
I'll also be getting back to Thy Judgement Come in January. I'm going to try to finish it by at least issue three for inclusion. For some reason this story had been my most problematic. I know where it's going. I just can't seem to get there. Ah well, all good things come to those who wait. So, in closing, I hope everyone has a holiday lined up with friends and family. If I don't get a chance to say it closer to time Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
