Where to watch:
This is a continuation of a series of reviews that I have been doing on my other blog. I'll likely be shutting that blog down and moving those previous posts here. If you can't wait to read those, and how could you, then go to www.stewartfelkel.blogspot.com. If you are a fan of cheesy old British sci fi them this is for you.
Synopsis:
This episode begins and ends with by crashing and burning. The first thing we see is a man wearing some truly stunning collars and a freed slave girl blowing up their own ship. 30 seconds later we watch Travis kill Blake to some truly stunning organ music. Well, a clone if Blake anyway as we see another one pop onscreen to stare down at his own corpse. Like I said, it starts with a crash.
We immediately switch to the Liberator where Avon is complaining that Blake is planning to attack the Federation's weapons development base. A plan that he apparently neglected to tell the crew. Do you have whiplash from all the scene changes? Me too. Excuse me while I call someone about my neck.
Now, where we're we? Oh yeah, back to Travis and Servelan for some angry repartee that comes out of left field.
Really, this goes on for 45 minutes. We switch scenes faster than a kid with ADHD holding the remote. The gist of the episode is this. Travis and Servelan have Blake cloned in an effort to predict Blakes movements.
The Liberator crew are after a weapon called Imipak that was stolen from the Weapons Development Base. Imipak marks it's target when you shoot them with it. From then you can push a button and they disintegrate. Anywhere. Anytime. They can never get away. And that my friends is the only saving grace of this episode. Honestly, I watched this episode twice trying to remember what happened but it bored me to tears. Shoot, I'm bored just writing about it.
Servelan uses the clone to get her hands on Imipak and marks Blake and his crew with it. Her ultimate goal is to steal it for herself however. Luckily for all Blake B and the slave girl save the day. They retrieve Imipak, mark Travis and Servelan and send them packing. All of this leaves out brave crew safe but with the proverbial Sword of Damocles hanging over their heads. A fact which we'll completely forget about by the next episode.
Final Thoughts:
This was just a poor episode. I could spend many more words tearing it down but that's just not worth it. Watch it for nostalgia reasons and completeness sake. But this is not Blakes 7 at it's best. This one made me appreciate The Web.

Coffee of the Day:
8 O'Clock Coffee. Dark Italian roast. Wow. We've been drinking Starbucks for awhile now and I wasn't sure how this would stack up when we ordered it. I was very pleasantly surprised. It's got a nice bold flavor with a little chocolate flavor in it. Damn fine cup of coffee!
